The Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN is looking to add 2 BC/BE Emergency Medicine physicians to join our team of healthcare professionals dedicated to caring for Americas heroes! You´ll practice evidence based medicine in our NEWLY renovated state-of-the-art level II ED with 23 suites and over 22,000 visits per year - without the hassles of high malpractice premiums and associated overhead costs! The Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center is the only complex, tertiary care facility for veterans in the state of Indiana, providing access to highly specialized services, the latest equipment and complicated diagnosis and treatment. We provide acute inpatient medical, surgical, psychiatric, neurological, and rehabilitation care. We also provide primary and specialized outpatient services. You´ll use the most sophisticated EMR network with centralized patient registration and billing. Flex-schedules are normally 10 and 12-hour shifts with MINIMAL CALL. SALARY RANGE: 96,539.00 - 200,000.00 USD per yearJOB SUMMARY:The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Syracuse, New York has both full time and part opportunities in its state-of-the-art Emergency Department. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. The Syracuse VA is an active teaching hospital affiliated with the State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University. The VA Emergency Department is a JC accredited unit averaging 14,000 visits a year. Applicants must possess a full and unrestricted license in any state. KEY REQUIREMENTS: Specialized Education Licensure, Certification, or Registration required. Background and/or Security Investigation required.

The incumbent will be a physician delivering emergency services to veterans presenting for emergent health care. Duties will include day-to-day care of veteran patients presenting with emergent/urgent problems. Expectations include a high level of quality of patient care and patient satisfaction. Day to day practice will include use of an electronic medical record, implementation of principles of advanced access and efficient flow, and maintaining cost effective medical care.QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Qualification Requirements: All individuals applying under this announcement must meet the qualifications for appointment as contained in VA Handbook 5005 Part II, Appendix G2. a. Citizenship: Must be a citizen of the United States. (Non-citizens may be appointed when no qualified citizens are available in accordance with current regulations.) b. English Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7404(d). c. Licensure: Must have a current, full, active and unrestricted license as a Physician in a state, Territory, or commonwealth (e.g., Puerto Rico) or the United States or District of Columbia.d. Education: Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. e. Board Certification in Emergency Medicine is desired. Board certified or eligible Internal Medicine/Family Practice/Primary Care physicians with ACLS will also be considered for these positions (Previous emergency department experience is desired).Education. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.a. Schools of medicine holding regular institutional membership in the Association of American Medical Colleges for the year in which the degree was granted.b. Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the degree was granted.c. Schools (including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e. Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia as qualifying for full or unrestricted licensure.
