The Program Medical Director is critical to the success of every program within a hospital, and is the clinical leader of the program sharing overall program leadership with the Program Manager.
Position Responsibilities:1.Performance Management of Hospitalists2.Serve in a partnership role with the Program Manager3.Orientation and training of new physicians4.Relationship management 5.Define and manage work allocation and work flow policies and processes6.Define and manage service agreements and scope of practice7.Champion for and support of all existing standardized processes, tools, services 8.Champion for change management 9.Facilitate 2-way dialogue with staff hospitalists 10.Provide input to central company activities 11.Hospital committee involvement12.Travel to and attendance at required company events and meetings13.Position is structured for approximately 80% clinical and 20% management responsibilitiesQualifications and Requirements:-MD or DO degree -ABIM or AOBIM certification in Internal Medicine. -License (or eligible) to practice in the respective state -Demonstrated previous leadership and management skills-Knowledge of physician services documentation and coding compliance requirements-Understanding of techniques in financial decision making-Skill in physician recruitment and retention practices-Experience in quality improvement initiatives, preferably with leadership responsibilities
