Crozer-Keystone Health System seeks Chairman of Pediatrics.
The Chair of Pediatrics will sit at Crozer-Chester Medical Center (Crozer), a 371-bed not-for-profit tertiary-care teaching hospital located on a beautiful 68-acre campus. The medical center admits more than 22,000 patients, treats approximately 53,000 Emergency Department patients, and delivers about 2,000 babies a year. In 2006, Crozer opened the doors to a new 40,000 square-foot Emergency Department, which more than doubled the space devoted to emergency medicine and includes dedicated pediatric suites. Pediatric Services include a 23-bed Inpatient Unit, 18 bassinets, Delaware Countys only Level IIIa Intensive Care Nursery, and the only Level III Emergency Department and Trauma Center in Delaware County. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The Chair of Pediatrics is responsible for the clinical, educational, research, administrative and fiscal operations of the department, including allocation of resources and the development and management of clinical programs. In addition the chair will provide strong leadership, expanding the departments clinical and residency programs and promoting quality of care. The chair will develop and oversee all strategic and operational aspects of the department and reviewing and approving departmental operating budgets. REQUIREMENTS:An ideal candidate will have an M.D. or D.O. degree with board certification in Pediatrics and an unrestricted state medical license. Strong leadership and team building skills with the capability to advance and develop a superior clinical service is a must. The ability to build solid collaborative relationships, both internally and externally and communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences is very important. Having the capacity to strategically prioritize and allocate organizational resources to effectively balance needs to achieve objectives is key. One must have a strong interest in community medicine and the ability to become a key citizen of the Pediatric community in the region. Commitment to the development of scholarly activities for faculty and residents is needed.
