The Organization:The largest independent alliance of physician groups in Massachusetts, Atrius Health consists of five non-profit medical groups who are joined to provide a proactive approach to patients health. Together, Dedham Medical Associates, Granite Medical, Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, Southboro Medical Group and South Shore Medical Center continue to build on a long history of high quality and preventive care to transform the delivery of health care in eastern Massachusetts. Atrius Health serves more than 675,000 adult and pediatric patients at over 2.3 million visits annually to 30 locations. Our skilled medical team includes more than 800 physicians and 1,250 other medical professionals, with a combined total of almost 5,000 employees.The Opportunity:We seek executive level oversight and organizational leadership in the design, development, and implementation of quality and safety initiatives, the strategic use of information technology and EMR (Epic) and a champion of organizational excellence in clinical care and patient experience. Work closely with executive management, clinical leadership, and senior administration in each member group to help achieve outstanding clinical performance and assume responsibility for the achievement of quality and safety results. This role includes a 20% clinical practice component, reports directly to the Atrius Health Chief Physician Executive and collaborates with the Chief Medical Officers of each of the Atrius Health physician groups. The Vice President of Quality and Safety has additional specific responsibilities related to the leadership and execution of quality objectives for Harvard Vanguard.The Ideal Candidate:The successful candidate will have extensive experience as a practicing physician and at least 5 years of senior management experience with a large delivery system or medical group. An MD or DO with board certification is required, and a masters degree in healthcare or business administration is strongly preferred, as is certification in quality improvement, quality management or fellowship training in quality and systems improvement.A strong command of current trends in local, state, and national quality and safety measurement, improvement, and regulations is critically important, as is an understanding of how to leverage clinical, operational, and financial data to motivate and direct improvement at all organizational levels.
