Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon Needed for Newly Designated Level II Trauma Center!
Successful Multi-specialty Neuro/Ortho practice in Myrtle Beach, SC is seeking a Trauma fellowship trained Orthopedist to do 75% trauma and 25% non-trauma orthopedic care. Strand Regional Specialty Associates is a full service orthopedic center providing a comprehensive range of orthopedic care, including: sports medicine; total joint replacement; fracture care; care for: knee, hip, and hand. Their staff includes 3 orthopedic surgeons and 5 neurologists. Practice is also recruiting an orthopedic spine specialist to support this new orthopedic trauma surgeon. ER orthopedic call will be 1:9 and 1:5 internally. Trauma surgeon will be supported by existing staff of 1 trauma surgeon, 2 neurosurgeons, and 5 general/vascular surgeons.Grand Strand Regional Medical Center is a 219-bed acute care hospital, with a 50 bed expansion underway, serving residents and visitors of Horry and surrounding counties. Our hospital offers the only cardiac surgery program in Horry and Georgetown counties and is a recently designated level II trauma center. In 2008, the hospital performed close to 400 heart surgeries, delivered 1000+ babies and treated over 66,000 Emergency Department patients. The hospital expects to see some 500-750 trauma cases in their first year as they are the only trauma center within 75 miles.
