Primary Purpose:Provide psychiatric and medication evaluations. Provide consultation for behavioral health related issues. Provide direct clinical services to children, adolescents and adults. Essential Duties:- Psycho-social assessment. - Develop appropriate treatment plans. - Provide medication management. - Provide appropriate referral. - Keep accurate current patient records using both computer and manual record systems. - Provide in service training as needed. - Provide consultation to other health professionals and staff at KPHC and in the community regarding psychiatric/psycho-social issues related to clients of the Kalihi-Palama Health Center. - Participate in the development and implementation of quality assurance activities for psychiatry and behavioral health. - Provide clinical supervision to social workers and other clinicians when needed and appropriate. - Support departmental goals and objectives, including participation in grant supported projects such as the Depression Collaborative and Healthy Tomorrows - Perform duties in such a manner that is appropriate to the multi-ethnic patient population of KPHC - Perform other related duties as assignedMinimum Qualification Requirements:Skills/Knowledge:- Good crisis intervention / de-escalation skills. - Ability to work as a team player. - Ability to relate effectively to difficult clients, including mentally ill, chemically dependent, and other homeless individualsEducation:- Degree in medicine; successful completion of psychiatric residency. For Child psychiatry, specialized residency in this area is required. - Board certified and ability. Experience:- Experience with computers in a health or educational setting
