McKesson MPT Customer Success Organization is seeking a Medical Doctor to assist adoption efforts related to Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) and associated technologies impacting physician workflow within our Domain Expertise Team. The candidate´s primary job responsibilities will include partnering with provider organizations who are implementing McKesson´s Horizon Expert Orders (HEO). In partnering with each organization the Medical Doctor/candidate will be responsible for: * Leading client physicians with the adoption of HEO, HEN, Portal, Medication Reconciliation (considerable on-site time) * Leading and facilitating client meetings where appropriate * Providing HEO, HEN, Portal, Med Reconciliation demonstrations for clients * Assisting with clinical content build activities at all client sites (recommending how content should be built in HEO, review of outlines/protocols) * Assisting with process design sessions at all client sites (identifying process efficiencies as a result of CPOE) * Recommending strategies for clinical adoption of technology * Assessing and mitigating risks at all levels * Representing McKesson Provider Technologies at industry trade shows, etc. * Working with C-suite personnel at all client sites * Working and leading client physician committees when needed/required * Educate and assist McKesson sales staff in understanding our comprehensive consulting services and how they provide value to our customers * Interact with marketing, product development, software developers, quality assurance, trainers, sales and/ or clinical/healthcare content analysts * Participate in extremely complex clinical consulting engagements where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variance factors * Exercise independent judgment in developing methodology, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results * Collaborate with other senior managers to establish corporate strategic plans and objectives Overall the Medical Doctor candidate must have a solid knowledge base of technology, medication safety and most importantly change management principles. The candidate will provide domain expertise services to guide customers with development of comprehensive solutions that optimize people, process, and technology in today´s complex healthcare environment. The position will require the Medical Doctor to work in a dynamic team environment where information sharing is paramount. The candidate must possess excellent written and verbal skills and be prepared to travel on a routine basis (70-80%) ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS* Direct experience implementing automated Order Entry, Clinical Documentation, and/or Medication Safety solutions * Experience serving as physician champion/sponsor for a CPOE project * Board Certification in Surgery, Cardiology, or other specialty field * Consulting Experience * Member of HIMSS * Knowledge of McKesson Technologies CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE * Medical Degree (MD) * In-depth knowledge of clinical information technology, including major suppliers, products, industry initiatives/drivers, challenges, barriers, etc * Minimum 5 years experience utilizing clinical information technology solutions in the acute care setting * Experience/demonstrated knowledge in developing clinical content, care pathways, or standard treatment protocols * Experience organizing and facilitating physician focus groups * Knowledge of provider adoption initiatives relative to implementation of automated clinical systems * Experience in organizational and behavioral change management * Demonstrated leadership skills, particularly in the area of leading cultural change in adoption of computerization * Excellent communication skills * Ability to influence peers COMPANY STATEMENTMcKesson offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. The Physician Content Analyst will have responsibility for the provisioning of expert clinical content in support of products and/or services. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Work leadership may be provided by assigning work and resolving problems. May participate in the development of funding proposals. Objectives are reviewed by senior management to determine success of operation. Erroneous decisions will result in critical delay(s) in schedules and/or unit operations and may jeopardize overall business activities. Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations.* Position requires Medical Doctor degree (M.D.)* 5+ years in managed care setting such as HMO, PPO or Utilization Management Role. * Experience in working with healthcare/ clinical content and development of medical software desired.* Thorough knowledge of healthcare/ clinical content and/ or technical information on specific software applications or solutions. * Strong writing, negotiation and presentation skills. * Collaborative, customer-focused and able to create visible value. * Previous experience developing content for clinical applications.* Must have clinical experience in a hospital setting as well as a background in Informatics.* Physician must have inpatient practice experience and working knowledge of the clinical content development process.* Must be able to perform literature searches and synthesize evidence.* Must possess familiarity with clinical standards and outcome measures, physician order entry and documentation, and clinical information systems.* Required is the ability to define content to support physician applications and workflow to meet regulatory and standards requirements for the provisioning of medical care in the inpatient setting.* Familiarity with Horizon applications highly desirable.* M.D. Required (ideal specialties include E.D., Internal Medicine)* Degree in Medical Informatics desired.
