To provide general pediatric primary health care and improve the quality of care provided to all MCPN pediatric patients.Plan and carry out medical care program for children from birth through adolescence to aid in mental and physical growth and development: Examine patients to determine presence of disease and to establish preventive health practices. Determine nature and extent of disease or injury, prescribes and administers medications and immunizations, and performs variety of medical duties including:*Advise patients, parents or guardians and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.*Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results.*Examine children regularly to assess their growth and development.*Examine patients or order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests to obtain information on medical condition and determine diagnosis.*Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients and parents or guardians.*Monitor patients condition and progress and re-evaluate treatments as necessary.*Plan and execute medical care programs to aid in the mental and physical growth and development of children and adolescents.*Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury in infants and children.*Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary.*Treat children who have minor illnesses, acute and chronic health problems, and growth and development concerns.Who is Metro Community Provider Network (MCPN)?*MCPN is a private not for profit system of Community Health Centers, School Based Health Centers, Homeless Clinics and Case Management programs *MCPN is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). *Our mission is to provide excellent health-related services focusing on the underserved.*We value quality, trust, communication, and the well being of all.Where does MCPN provide services?*Twelve care sites throughout the cities of Aurora and Lakewood as well as Arapahoe, Jefferson, and Park Counties. What services does MCPN provide?*Services are developed to provide primary health care for people who have no other access to health care. On site we have basic lab services (dip UA, urine pregnancy tests, fingerstick glucose, fingerstick hemoglobin, rapid strep and strep cultures). Other specimens are sent to an outside Lab. All patients have to be sent to hospitals for x-ray studies. We are able to do EKGs, pulse oxymitry and nebulizer treatments on site.*A Family Practice model of health care is supported by case management services, pharmacy services, and other coordination efforts to remove barriers to health care. *Well Child Care, immunizations, obstetrics, gynecology, and chronic disease management are among the most often-requested services. *Several community service based programs as well.Who are MCPN patients?*Our patients span the full scope of primary care from prenatal through newborns to seniors. *About half have no health insurance, the rest mostly have Medicaid. *System-wide, about 50% of our patients are Latino, 30% Caucasian, 10% African American and many of the rest Asian, especially Southeast Asian and Pakistani. Why work for MCPN?*Loan Repayment eligible.*Regular Monday through Friday work week; Flexible work week 4/10s or 5/8s (dependent upon clinic hours)*Salary - $123k-$161k for MD/DOs*Paid time off is accrued at 21 days of paid time off (vacation/sick leave) per year. In addition there are 7 paid holidays and 4 floating holidays. *Providers get 5 days and $2000 for continuing educational activities. MCPN pays for membership in one professional society and for one professional journal. *We cover the cost of the Colorado edical License and DEA registration.*Malpractice covered at no cost to the employee through the Federal Tort Claims Act.*Insurance Currently we offer company paid medical and dental insurance to employees.
