The North Carolina Department of Health & Human Services, Cherry Hospital is recruiting for Psychiatrists (Physician III-B). Located in Goldsboro, North Carolina, Cherry Hospital is a state psychiatric hospital serving adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Cherry Hospital is in a dynamic period of program expansion and creation of new programs for clinical care and research. We are eagerly anticipating the completion of our new state-of-the-art facility which is slated to open in 2011. This is an exciting time to join our professional team as we expand to provide the best quality inpatient psychiatric services for the citizens of eastern North Carolina. As a Psychiatrist you will serve as a team leader for multi-disciplinary team to ensure quality patient care and treatment. This includes responsibility for the evaluation of patients on admission, development of comprehensive treatment plans, documentation of patient progress, education of patients and families, and provision of educational groups for patients. Requires graduation from an accredited school of medicine and completion of residency or specialty training and one year of experience in the practice of medicine; or graduation from an accredited school of medicine and four years of experience in the practice of medicine; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Necessary special qualification: eligible for licensure to practice medicine in North Carolina and so licensed before permanent appointment.
