This is a great new opening for one full-time child psychiatrist (or two half time (but daily) psychiatrists) working with longer-term inpatients and a strong peer-group of staff. The patients benefit from a relatively long length of stay. Enjoy real clinical autonomy in a setting respectful of physicians and in which the physician is the head of the team, not just a member. Join either as a Unit Chief or as Senior Clinical Director, depending on your experience and qualifications.The Westchester location is an easy commute from anywhere in Westchester, Rockland and Orange Counties, and is only 35 minutes from the Upper Eastside or Upper Westside of Manhattan, since it is a reverse commute, opposite to traffic. You would work with a dedicated group of high-quality academic-level child and adolescent psychiatrists. There will be optional opportunities for teaching. We are fortunate enough to have minimal managed care and a long length of stay. There are no evening or weekend hours required and no call! This makes it easy to be home early, and not have to see outpatients in the evening unless you choose to do a private practice. This is the advantage of comfortable inpatient work-- your evenings are your own, as contrasted with outpatient jobs, where the children and adolescents cannot come in until after school, requiring evening hours. We dont have that problem!Benefits are available.If you wish, you may use your office for private patient care after hours and on weekends.
