Summa Health System, in Akron, OH is seeking an academically-focused Oncologist and Scientist to be appointed Director of Oncology Clinical Research and Experimental Therapeutics.

Summa Health System has consistently been recognized by U.S. News & World Report for excellence. The selected candidate will serve as a member of the clinical faculty of the Department of Medicine and will oversee its Division of Oncology’s multi-project clinical research program, providing strategic scientific, technical and managerial direction to the program and its staff. The Director will conduct basic and/or clinical research with grant funding resulting in peer-reviewed publications and scholarly presentations. The Director will also provide overall guidance and support of training programs for residents and young investigators. Academic appointment at the Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy will be commensurate with experience. This position also includes time for clinical activity. The 60,000 square foot comprehensive cancer center provides advanced diagnostics, treatment, support and research services all under one roof.Requirements include state of Ohio licensure and certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a subspecialty of Hematology and/or Oncology. Preferred qualifications include senior faculty status with a history of research productivity and success in grantsmanship.

(SPI), a multi-specialty group of Summa Health System, and will practice with a well-established group of seven physicians in a diverse clinical practice. Enjoy practicing in two great locations. This position offers opportunities for active involvement in medical student and resident education. Academic appointment at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and Pharmacy will commensurate with experience.
