UNT Health, physician group of The University of North Texas Health Science Center of Ft. Worth, TX is looking for a qualified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist.
The Department of Psychiatry is committed to promoting and providing excellent patient care within the UNT Health physician group, education, and research. The Department of Psychiatry provides services for JPS Health Network (JPS) and the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth (UNTHSC). The Department of Psychiatry offers the following current programs:- Psychiatric Emergency Center (PEC) - Acute Psychiatric Center (APC) - Consult and Liaison Services (C&L) - Inpatient Adult Services (38 beds) - Inpatient Adolescent Services (16 beds) - JPS Outpatient Behavioral Services -- Stop Six -- Viola Pitts (Como) -- Northeast -- Central Arlington CHC- UNTHSC Outpatient Clinic - ADHD Clinic - Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinic John Peter Smith has a total of 70 beds, (54 adult and 16 adolescent) in the Psychiatry Unit. The faculty position will:- provide leadership and administrative supervision of the clinical services- provide direct psychiatry services through the comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients assigned to him/her- participate in other administrative duties as assigned. These could include being a member of or chairing a Medical Staff Committee. - The candidate will assure that clinicians and physicians in services assigned to him/her will receive appropriate clinical supervision; including teaching Psychiatry Residents, Family Practice Residents and medical students assigned to the Department of Psychiatry and psychiatric staff development training as assigned by the Chair. - The Child Psychiatrist must have some research background and an interest in doing research. - He/she must adhere to Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and Policies of the Medical and Dental Staff of the University of North Texas Health Science Center. Job Requirements- Candidate is required to have completed a 4 year Psychiatry Residency, as well as a Child and Adolescent Fellowship. - The Psychiatrist must be Board Certified in specialty or have completed the said Board Certification with three years of employment experience. - Candidate must be Texas licensed by time of start date.* This faculty position is full time and employed by the state. * There is minimal call* CME allowance, full benefits, as well as opportunities to work in the Psych ER unit on Weekends for $1250/12 hour shift. Income is based on MGMA standards. * There are opportunities to be scheduled for grand rounds any Friday at the JPS Trinity Springs Pavilion. * Medical students and Residents will be shadowing within patient rooms and Clinical Research and Community Service are encouraged.
