Over the past 15 years, WDPC has grown from one employed physician and mid-level provider to 91 providers, including over 30 primary care physicians and a mix of specialists including Endocrinologists, Urologists, Infectious Disease specialists, Medical Oncologists, Intensivists, and Rheumatologists, among others. WDPC employs over 300 people and had revenues of approximated $34 million in 2008. WDPC has developed a compensation model that rewards physician productivity and quality. In 2008, WDPC selected a new Electronic Medical Record (NextGen) that has been installed in all their primary care practices. The new CMO will help to champion the NextGen implementation to all practice sites. Wentworth-Douglass Hospital (WD) is the largest acute care hospital serving the area between New Hampshires Seacoast Region and Maine. WDs and WDPCs leadership has a strong focus on program growth excellence and fostering a progressive, empowered work environment. The mission is to become the highest quality hospital and multi-specialty medical practice in Northern New England. WD is expanding several clinical programs that are viewed as integral to ensuring the community has access to a wide array of appropriate medical and surgical services. WD and WDPC have core growth strategies defined for 15 market segments, with Cancer, Surgery, Maternity and Pediatrics among those identified as growth areas. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned, team-oriented, physician executive to join an exceptional leadership team. The CMO will be responsible for oversight of medical affairs across WDPC facilities, credentialing of mid-levels, patient safety efforts, physician leadership development, clinical performance improvement, clinical care quality and standards, and medical staff strategic planning. The successful candidate will be a physician with experience in EMR implementations, medical management and leadership as Chief Medical Officer, Assistant Medical Director or Medical Director or equivalent. A team philosophy will be important in helping to forge the necessary partnerships between physicians and hospital administration. Experience working with a hospitalist program is desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are needed, with personal warmth given a high priority.
