Portland, Oregon -- Providence St. Vincent Medical Center is seeking a board certified psychiatrist, with additional training, experience and certification in addiction medicine, to join our outpatient psychiatry program in beautiful southwest Portland. Our psychiatric clinic currently treats general adult psychiatric patients and we are providing opiate detoxification with suboxone. We plan to expand our outpatient detoxification services to include other substance disorders. Interest and expertise in treating patients with general psychiatric disorders, co-occurring psychiatric, addiction and pain disorders is required. Our division of Behavioral Health provides the full continuum of psychiatric and addiction treatment services including inpatient, partial hospital, intensive outpatient, emergency psychiatry and consultation-liaison programs. The incumbent is assigned to the Mental Health Service located at the Dayton VA medical Center. The incumbent functions as the Medical Director of the Opiate Treatment Program within the Substance Abuse Program in the Mental Health Service. The incumbent is responsible for administering all medical services provided by the program, either by performing them directly or delegating specific responsibility to authorized healthcare professionals functioning under the Medical Directors direct clinical supervision. Other duties include, but are not limited to, the coordination of all Opiate Treatment Program quality assurance standards, and supporting team members for standards that must be met on a daily basis.The Medical Director works with the Substance Abuse Coordinator for Opiate Treatment Program compliance and assists with hiring of appropriate staff and team organization. Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia, invites applications for the position of Psychiatrist, Substance Abuse Treatment Program Director, Mental Health Service. (MHS).

The Medical Director is appointed by Chief of MHS. The Program Medical Director assumes overall responsibility for the care of all outpatients and inpatients seen in the program. Incumbent assures coordination and integration with other programs by participation in regular administrative meetings of the team leaders and Chief of the service line. The applicant maintains Board Certification in Psychiatry and preferably has certification in Additions through the American Society of Addiction Medicine. In addition to administrative functions, the incumbent participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team and is responsible for the overall care of patients. Incumbent provides psychiatric input at interdisciplinary SATP treatment planning meetings, provides supervision to psychiatric residents, medical students and other trainees, provides ongoing information to non medical staff members regarding the use of psychotropic medications, holds a special DEA license to prescribe methadone and Buprenorphine to OATP patients, and is privileged to serve as attending physician for admission and discharge functions and overall treatment of patients. Affiliated clinical units include a poly-trauma program, traumatic brain injury program, nursing home care unit, and spinal cord injury program. The University of Michigan Department of Psychiatry is seeking a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible addiction psychiatrist for a tenure stream, academic track appointment in its Substance Abuse Section. Although the position is currently listed at the assistant professor level, applicants at all ranks will be considered. Candidates with a strong background in either neurobiology of addiction or in clinical trials research are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants should have a record of peer-reviewed publication and early programmatic research activity that indicates promise for research funding at the national level. In addition to the research involvement, professional activity will include direct outpatient care with the University of Michigan Addiction Treatment Services (UMATS), the Sections clinical treatment facility, as well as teaching psychiatry residents, medical students, and addiction psychiatry fellows. This position provides an outstanding research environment for an academic track career with a highly productive and collaborative faculty. The Section is home to more than a dozen faculty and research scientists. Its Addiction Research Center is currently the base for over 20 projects focused on the etiology, course, treatment, and outcome of substance abuse disorders; moreover, substance abuse research accounts for more than 40 percent of the departments total research activity. Staff Psychiatrist Adult Dual Diagnoses ServicesThe Adult Dual Diagnoses Program at Hampton Hospital is a 28 bed unit staff by a multidisciplinary treatment team of trained and experienced staff and physicians. The staff and physicians are dedicated to the care and treatment of patients with dual diagnoses. The Physician duties will include admission evaluations, daily care of patients, treatment team leadership, and medical committee membership. The physician staff is very collegial and there is strong clinical and administrative support in the position. There is minimal call predominantly by phone on a 1:7 rotation with no required onsite weekend call.
