MEDICAL DIRECTOR needed in North Carolina!
Title of Immediate Supervisor: BOARD OF DIRECTORSTitle of Employees Directly Supervised: NoneDESCRIPTION OF DUTIES1. Overall supervision of all medical/clinical aspects of the services delivered.2. Identifying appropriate evidence-based or emerging best practices therapies to be employed by staff in deliveringservices.3. Oversight of all quality management initiatives.4. Ensuring the coordination between the MH/SA services being delivered with primary physical healthcare providers.5. Consulting with primary healthcare providers on the clinical aspects of the consumers being served and theimplications for those consumers physical healthcare needs.6. Coordinating with medical staff of other providers, e.g. state and community inpatient facilities.7. Supervision of all other medical staff within the provider agency.8. Coordinate with the Board of Directors to mobilize the full capabilities of Board members. Report to the Boardmonthly.9. Ensures that staffing needs are addressed based on statutory requirements for the services provided by Sunpath, LLC.10. Supervise and coordinate outcomes, including all clinical diagnosis, intervention and therapeutic goals within theagency.11. Review and sign service orders for consumer treatments.12. Provides direct services as needed such as Medication Management13. It will be the Medical Directors responsibility to assign a designee in his/her absence to cover these duties.14. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.15. Populations: Adult (MH/SA) and Child (MH)MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEPsychiatrist (Board Eligible /Board Certified), orPhysician (MD) with ASAM certification with experience with the MH/SA population orPhysician (MD) who is board-certified or board-eligible in: general family practice, or internal medicine, or pediatrics; and with two or more years of direct service experience diagnosing, treating, and evaluating the effectiveness of treatment of the population to be served by the CABHA. Consideration will also be given to physicians with these credentials who have received additional training orcertification related to treating the populations to be served and those who have prior experience as a medical directorfor a mental health and/or substance abuse provider organization.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES1. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees,clients and their families, with team members and with civic, medical, religious and social organizations.2. Ability to train, direct, plan, supervise, coordinate and evaluate the work of subordinate personnel in an effectivemanner.3. Ability to coordinate and complete processes within strict designated daily and monthly deadlines by workingeffectively with multiple individuals in a highly tactful yet precise manner.4. Demonstrated working knowledge of obtaining authorizations for services, direct care service provision, and otherclinical responsibilities.5. Excellent communication skills. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute workeffectively.6. Knowledge, skills and abilities in human services delivery system. Clinical knowledge of mental health,developmental disabilities, best practices, family dynamics, social work principles, techniques and practices.7. Detailed knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies which governs Sunpath LLC.8. Excellent ability to interpret and apply statutory and regulatory requirements.9. Performs other duties required to maintain clients safety and supportive environment.
