Our mission is to provide excellence in mental health, substance abuse, habilitation and life skills services, to respect consumer rights and personal dignity, and to maintain agency financial stability. Today the agency is one of the states largest, offering the most comprehensive spectrum of services and providing seamless care for individuals of all ages. We are proud to provide programs and services to over 10,000 people in western Maine, an area that includes urbanized Lewiston/Auburn, and the rural isolated communities of the western mountain region. Our Outpatient clinics in Rumford, Oxford, Bridgton, Lewiston, Windham and Farmington are the base for many of our services. We also reach into homes, schools, hospitals, businesses and other community locations. Our 24-hour crisis services helped nearly 2,500 people last year while our clinics in Rumford and Oxford served nearly 3,000 people, 678 of whom were served through Child and Family Services. Tri-County’s approach to service is trauma-informed and recovery-based, including specific evidence-based treatment when clinically indicated. We have been recognized as a leader in trauma-informed services, first selected by the State of Maine as the pilot site for developing trauma-informed services for adults, and now as the lead agency in a six year initiative committed to bringing the approach to a System of Care for Children called THRIVE. We have a proven commitment to excellence, are dedicated to the highest standards of care, and are leaders in the implementation of best-practices. We have created new, effective models of treatment, and lead the way in bringing evidence-based practices like Multi-Systemic Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for children and youth to Maine. In the past three years the agency has been transformed with streamlined operational practices, redesigned employment/management structures, advanced technology, and new clinical practice models. We continue to be committed to advancing Integrated Primary Care (IPC), by joining medical and behavioral health services to better address the spectrum of concerns that patients bring to their primary care providers (PCPs). With research indicating that the majority of these patients have either a physical ailment that is affected by stress, problems maintaining healthy lifestyles, or a psychological disorder which makes it both clinically sound and cost effective to integrate behavioral health within primary care. Tri-County has been an active participant in Maine’s Integrated Primary Care Collaborative (under the leadership of Maine Medical Center), and through this Collaborative have been connected to leaders across Maine invested in advancing this holistic approach. For more information about us: www.tcmhs.org We have service delivery sites in Lewiston, Windham, Oxford, Bridgton, Farmington, and Rumford. The position we are looking to fill would be at the Lewiston office and one to two other sites. The selection of the secondary sites is negotiable. One possibility is to live in the Windham area and cover the smaller clinics of Windham and Bridgton with the majority of the care being delivered in Lewiston. This would give ease of access to excellent schools, a large real estate market, Lake Sebago, and Portland. For Coastal living Brunswick would be the ideal choice. Auburn and Lewiston offer a more Metropolitan lifestyle. Bucolic living options abound in Western Maine with proximity to winter and other outdoor sports/activities. Whatever your preference a clean, friendly, and safe place to live is the general rule in Maine.
