Mercy Health System of Northwest Arkansas is actively recruiting for a Gastroenterology Physician to join its well established group of 2 board certified gastroenterologists in this comprehensive single hospital practice. The group services, Mercy Medical Center, a 275-Bed faith-based, not-for-profit Catholic facility. The Rogers/Bentonville area has a growing population of over 550,000 residents. Mercy Health System has recently completed construction of a new $140 million, replacement hospital. This world class facility, opened it doors in March 2008, and is located on 75 acres in the heart of the Best Performing Region in AmericaThis new medical campus includes a 350,000-square-foot, 200-bed Mercy Medical Center and Mercy Physicians Plaza, which currently houses about 35 primary care and specialty physicians. The new medical campus also houses outpatient hospital departments including GI endoscopy suites, sleep lab and a wellness center. In addition, Mercy Medical Center and the Mercy Medical Clinics began using the EPIC Electronic Health Records in March in both the inpatient and outpatient settings allowing access to patient information across the continuum of care. 1 Opening - Full-time or Part-time; BC/BE 650,000 Population; 1 million Draw Area 1 hour north of Chicago; on beautiful Lake MichiganDue to the expansion and growth of our Liver Disease and Abdominal Transplant Program, we are seeking an additional UNOS qualified Transplant Hepatologist to meet patient demand and expand the capabilities of this successful program. Qualified candidates will be Board Certified/Eligible in Gastroenterology with skills in all medical aspects of transplantation obtained in a UNOS certified program.Established in 1998, the Liver Disease and Abdominal Transplant program is an UNOS and Medicare approved program which evaluates patients with the whole spectrum of liver problems including management of primary liver disease, evaluation of metastatic/primary liver cancers and end-stage liver failure requiring liver transplant. Hepatology and surgical expertise include hepatectomy, ablation therapy (radiofrequency, cryoablation, chemoembolization), hepatic artery chemotherapy infusion pump placement and liver transplant. Performing Living Donor Transplantation is a high priority of the future plans for the program.With offices located on the St. Luke’s Medical Center campus, the Transplant Clinic consists of 7 exam rooms with a support staff of 7 including RNs and administrative assistants. A distinct Liver Disease Clinic is also located on the campus, and is staffed by nursing, physician assistant, customer service, and medical resident staff. On-site ancillary services include lab, radiology (CT, MRI, etc.), pharmacy and surgery. The Liver Disease Program also works collaboratively with the Aurora Visiting Nurse Association to provide patient pharmaceutical education and support in the home. The Clinics are part of the Aurora Medical Group, a 650+ physician multi-specialty group with nearly 100 clinics and an extensive referral base throughout Eastern Wisconsin. In conjunction with its 3,600 affiliated private practice physicians and 14 hospitals, Aurora Health Care provides patient care at more than 250 locations in 75 communities, from the Illinois border in the south to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula in the north.St. Luke’s Medical Center is also affiliated with the University of Wisconsin Medical School through its Milwaukee clinical campus offering residency and fellowship programs in a variety of specialties.
