Nurse practitioners and nursing students would be among the winners if healthcare reform legislation is passed by the U.S. Congress.  President Obama last week renewed efforts to get agreement on reform bills passed last year in the House of Representatives and Senate. (Indiana University Press Release) -- INDIANAPOLIS -- The most frequent error in medicine seems to occur nearly one out of three times a patient is referred to a specialist. A new study found that nearly a third of patients age 65 and older referred to a specialist are not scheduled for appointments and therefore do not receive the treatment their primary care doctor intended.

Dear Cindy

After working two decades at a very large teaching hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, as a registered licensed diagnostic radiologic technologist,  I moved to Texas to be closer to my extended family. At the age of 56, I cannot find a full-time job where the continuity of patient care and organization of the hospital or clinic is structured. Seems like everyone is out for the almighty dollar and the patient, which is the reason why we are in the profession, comes second. Healthcare is not the same as it used to be, yet, I hope I can find a job to sustain my lifestyle until I retire.
